I spent my childhood in Colyford, East Devon, and after leaving school and living in various parts of the United Kingdom returned to the area, so I have a good knowledge of the Devon/ Somerset/ Dorset area, its roads, and its people.
I live in Axminster, and have a grown up son and daughter. I am interested in most sports, and play hockey regularly and golf occasionally. I enjoy most types of music and food. I have always enjoyed driving and meeting new people, and a challenge, so I thought I would put them together and become a driving instructor.
I trained with LDC and have stayed with the company as the training and support from them for both learners and instructors is excellent. Using their system means more actual driving time on lessons, saving unnecessary explanations. Being part of the LDC network you can be assured of the highest standards of tuition and customer care.
Living in Axminster makes me available to teach pupils from East Devon, West Dorset and South Somerset – areas such as Axminster, Seaton, Colyton, Lyme Regis, Bridport, Chard, Ilminster and Crewkerne. I will pick you up from home, work, school, or wherever suits you (not make you come into town from outlying villages as some instructors do).
I understand that learning to drive can be very nerve racking, so aim to make it as stress free and enjoyable as possible. I consider myself to be a friendly and patient instructor and person, leading to a relaxed atmosphere in which people normally learn much better and more quickly. My lessons will be modified to what is best suited to you, as we all learn in different ways and need different levels of support along the way.
My dual controls are reassurance for you in the early days, and an aid to safety. I will not use them un-necessarily or without fully explaining why I did so.
I am also registered for the Pass Plus Scheme, which provides newly qualified drivers the opportunity to further improve their driving skills and gain extra experience on all types of road, including night driving and motorway, leading to insurance discounts with many companies.
